PROVERBS

*

Creation is not something anyone can do. Only God, by creating all things visible and invisible, has revealed that He alone is the one true God and Creator, possessing infinite wisdom and power.

*

God reveals Himself. Not only has He shown His eternal power and divine nature through all creation, but He also reveals Himself through our lives. That is why David said he always saw the Lord before him. Furthermore, God has fully revealed Himself through His Word.

*

God saw all that He had made and rejoiced in it. Everything God created brings Him joy simply by its existence, and humanity is the object of His delight. It is like someone who loves babies, they are joyful simply because it is a baby, regardless of which baby it is.

*

God created the world with His word. God’s word has the power to accomplish what it speaks. However, when God created mankinds, He made them from the dust, showing that mankinds are the most special beings among all creation and are the objects of God’s attention and love.

*

God created mankind in His own image and likeness. Just as parents love their children who have their blood running through them, God loves humans who are made in His likeness unconditionally. God created humans to love them.

*

God completed the heavens and the earth and all things, and on the seventh day, He rested. Rest is experienced when there is nothing left to do. The Bible records the works that God has completed, and those who believe in His word will find rest in God.

*

The reason why day is day is because there is light, and the reason why night is night is because there is no light. The reason we were once children of darkness is because we were apart from God who is the light, and now we are children of light because we have returned to God, who is the light.

*

God finished creating the heavens and the earth and all things therein, and on the seventh day, He rested. The Scripture records the works that God has accomplished, and those who believe in the words of the Scripture shall also find rest, just as God rested.

*

To keep the Sabbath means that just as a weary body rests from all labor on the Sabbath day, so our souls, once burdened by sin, now find rest through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He has forgiven all our sins.
